car accidents

My interest in treating car accident injuries increased after my car was totaled this year in an accident on I-5. Although my injuries weren’t as severe as my car’s damage, dealing with multiple phone calls from insurance companies, car salesmen and doctor’s offices was severely stressful. Along with scheduling treatments, finding transportation, working, and getting back into the activities I love, I had to repeat the story over and over again to people barely listening. Going through that mess made me realize that I can be one of the biggest impacts of how quickly a person heals. My part in returning a person back to their lifestyle is exciting and incredibly important and I am even more passionate about what I do. I have taken several seminars this year to learn more about the legal side of the cases as well as up-to-date research on how to heal patients faster.

The Most Common Injuries I can treat from a Car Accident are:

  • Facet Joint sprain (or spinal joint sprain)
  • Disc tears
  • Muscle strains
  • Knee meniscus tears

Treatments start off VERY GENTLE and are focused on light massage of injured tissue to help it heal in the proper direction. Pain-free range of motion is encouraged in the early stages as well. Eventually deeper massage, at-home exercises and adjustments are used to re-align tissues, break up scar tissue, and re-create normal movement patterns and function. I almost always encourage these patients to receive care from massage therapists, physical therapists, and acupuncturists as well.
